HTC One M8, M9, Desire 530, Desire 630 and 825 Under Major US Carriers Receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

HTC fans are already waiting for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware to hit their devices. Recently, the HTC One M8 and M9 under US major carriers have started receiving the firmware update. While the Desire 530, Desire 630 and Desire 825 has the same OS pre-installed.

Gospel Herald stated that it was last week when HTC officials announced that One M9 users under the T-Mobile and Verizon networks are scheduled to obtain the Android Marshmallow firmware upgrade. However, the One M9 users under AT&T will have to wait a little longer as the mobile carrier reportedly experienced some technical issues on the software.

In addition, HTC's product manager Leon Rosenzwaig announced through a social networking site that the unlocked version of HTC A9 in Canada will obtain the latest version of Android M. On the other hand, the One M9 owners from other parts of the world could anticipate the update very soon. Moreover, it was also reported that Canadian telecommunications companies like Sasktel, Rogers, Videotron and Wind Mobile have started the Android 6.0 Marshmallow roll out to for its subscribers. Also, HTC One M8 and M9 under TELUS got the same update.

It is also worth mentioning that HTC recently unveiled its Desire line up of handsets during the Mobile World Congress 2016. Neurogadget noted that these devices will arrive with Android 6.0 Marshmallow as it come out of the box. The HTC Desire 350, HTC Desire 630 and HTC Desire 825 smartphones are expected to hit the retailers' shelves next month.

Aside from the aforementioned devices, International Business Times cited other HTC smartphones that are eligible for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware. The list include HTC One M8, HTC One M9+, HTC One E9, HTC ME, HTC One E8, HTC M8 EYE, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820 and HTC Desire 816. Nonetheless, the roll out dates are not yet confirmed by the Taiwanese tech giant.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be rolled out over-the-air which means users will be notified that an upgrade is available. Just in case, they haven't received any, they can manually check by going to the device's Settings->About phone->Software update->Check now.
