Camille Cosby has filed a last-minute emergency motion to delay deposition that was set on Monday regarding a case filed against her husband Bill Cosby. She cited that her testimony would cause "unnecessary media circus" and threat to her personal security.

In a report by Deadline, Camille claimed that a possible media circus could harass and embarrass her. The emergency motion was filed in Springfield, Massachusetts over the weekend. The 71-year-old wife of the comedian was scheduled to appear in a defamation case against her husband this Monday, February 22. It is unclear why the motion to delay was approved as a previous request was denied last Friday.

Camille had the option to claim marital privilege to evade the questions about private conversation, but it was ordered by the court that she should answer questions about the alleged multiple sexual assault claims. The lawsuit that she is to take part of was filed by seven women against Bill, The Guardian reported. All of them claim that Camille could provide "significant information" about her husband that would make the case progress.

The representative of the plaintiffs filed a response asking Judge Mark Mastroianni to reject the emergency motion and allow the deposition to go through. However, Mastroianni granted Cosby's team to delay the deposition and called a hearing to hear the arguments on the issue, CNN reported.

This is the latest in the many legal battles that Bill is facing. The comedian is scheduled to give another deposition regarding the case of Judy Huth before February ends. Huth has claimed in her lawsuit that Bill molested her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 when she was a minor. The first deposition regarding the case took place last October.

The delay in the deposition of Camille came days after Bill and his team filed a countersuit against Andrea Constand.
