Seattle Police: Heavily Armed Nevada Man Arrested as His Intentions Remain Unknown (Video)

Police in Seattle are investigating a Nevada man arrested near the University of Washington in a stolen pickup truck filled with weapons, body armor and suspected explosive devices, the Associated Press reported.

John Vinson, the University of Washington police chief, said at a press conference on Thursday afternoon that the man was diving a stolen truck out of Montana and carried with him a scoped rifle, shotgun and some Molotov cocktails.

The man's identity has yet to be released, but is known to be 21.

"We have no idea what his intentions are," Vinson said. "This is a very active investigation. We're trying to rule out everything at this point."

On Wednesday, university police received a report that the truck had been stolen from Montana, and officers were told to watch for the truck and spotted it on Wednesday evening, near the university.

The man was booked into the King County Jail, after campus police recognized the truck stolen from Montana. The university police contacted Seattle police and the FBI after searching the vehicle and finding the suspected bombs.

Commander Vinson said the man had not been cooperating with police, but reiterated that there did not appear to be any threat to the university campus, news reports said.
