White House Proved Supreme Court Hypocrisy Charge Against Obama Is False

The White House defended the President against Republican charges of hypocrisy in relation to Supreme Court nominees on Wednesday. Few liberal activists get into the action and the Senate Democrat have guested a Republican move.

The White house is defending their side to make the Republican-led Senate to continue with the hearings and come up with a vote for the President's nominee for late Justice Antonin Scalia's replacement.

Obama's lifetime appointment could change the balance of power for top the issues in the country. For the moment, the Supreme Court are composed of four conservative justices and another four liberal justices, making the whole filling of vacancy a big issue for lawmakers government parties.

According to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who is known as a Republican, the vacancy are to be filled by the next president. In this case, it will still be next January. He stated that this is for the benefit of the voters too since they may cast their votes to leader who could provide their stand on nation's issue, stated in CNN.

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid mentioned that President Barack Obama might pick a great nominee to replace Scalia. He added that Senate would have to hold hearings and make a vote. This is also true to what Obama have said regarding Senate's constitutional duty to consider his nominee.

Tracking back in the past, Josh Earnest, White House spokesman, defended Obama's action in time of George W. Bush. He cleared out that Obama's blocking to Bush's nominee was just a procedural maneuver known as filibuster. Obama was still a senator at that time that Samuel Alito's nomination was done. It was said to be true to what Republicans would certainly react in that kind of situation.

Now, liberal groups are expressing their support to the President. MoveOn.org Progressive Change Campaign Committee have pledge to convince the Republicans to allow hearings and a vote for his nominee, cited by Reuters.

They mentioned that 500,000 petition signatures were already gather to show opposition against McConnell's stand. Another Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, was ruled out the talk of hearings but mixed messages on proceeding it has been offered.

The White House is currently making connections to various offices of senators for Democratic and Republican parties. This is pertaining to court vacancy.

Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are expected to pay their respect to Justice Antonin Scalia on Friday, as the justice's body will be laid at the Supreme Court building. Although the President can't attend to Scalia's funeral mass on Saturday, his Vice President would be there.
