Dark Souls Is Microsoft's New Xbox One Backward Compatibility Game; Digital Dark Souls 3 Pre-Order Gets FREE Copy

Microsoft has just added Dark Souls in their Xbox One Backward Compatibility offering the original Dark Souls game for free upon purchase of a digital pre-order of Dark Souls 3 via the Microsoft Xbox One Store.

In a report yesterday by UK Daily Express, Microsoft has confirmed their own pre-order details for Dark Souls 3 showing fans some options on how to grab the Season Pass on top of the free copy of Backward Compatibility.

The report added a message by Larry Hryb via Major Nelson official site who stated:

"Dark Souls III continues to push the boundaries with the latest, ambitious chapter in the critically-acclaimed and genre-defining series.Fans and newcomers alike will get lost in the game hallmark rewarding gameplay and immersive graphics. Now only embers remain...Prepare yourself once more and Embrace The Darkness!"

Hyrb adding saying, "For a limited time, purchase a digital pre-order of DARK SOULS III on the Xbox One Store and get the original Dark Souls playable on Xbox 360, or Xbox One later via Backward Compatibility."

"Dark Souls III - Deluxe Edition Pre-order - This bundle includes Dark Souls III and the Season Pass."

"There are 2 versions of Dark Souls III available for pre-order - the standard and deluxe editions."

Since November last year, the number of Xbox 360 games that can be played on the Xbox One keeps on increasing, with  GTA: San Andreas, Bioshock Infinite, Halo Wars  also making their Backward Compatibility debut soon, notes N4BB in their recent article.

Since November, Microsoft reported that more than 21 million hours are logged around the world playing Xbox One Backward Compatibility games.

  • Sam & Max Save the World
  • Aegis Wing
  • Counter-Strike: GO
  • Age of Booty
  • Space Giraffe
  • Soulcalibur
  • Skullgirls
  • Jeremy McGrath's Offroad
  • Small Arms

Xbox One owners who wants to see their favorite Xbox 360 titles that they want to play on Xbox One are encncouraged by Microsoft to keep on voting at Xbox Feedback as they continue to grow their library of Xbox One Backward Compatibility titles.
