Marvel Cinematic Universe's phase three was revealed to include the exit of some characters that fans have grown to love, as well as introduction of new heroes that will further expand the universe. Such statement could be true for Thor: Ragnarok as latest rumors about the film suggest that Idris Elba's Heimdall could be killed off by a new villain while Samuel Jackson's Nick Fury is set to return.

Aside from Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Mark Ruffalo who will be reprising their roles as Thor, Loki, and Bruce Banner/Hulk  respectively, no other actors have been confirmed to star in Thor: Ragnarok.

However, speculations  are rampant that Cinderella actress Cate Blanchett might join the cast as the lead villain Hela. According to CinemaBlend, Thor will fight against Hela which would result to the destruction of his hammer, the Mjolnir. Hela is also rumored to kill Heimdall, although, Heimdall would still be seen on a later part of the movie as he leads one of the two armies of dead spirits who would embark on a massive battle.

Official synopsis for the film is still under wraps, although, Hulk has long been confirmed to appear in the movie. It is unknown if the character would be more verbal in the next movie, but as reported by Christian Examiner, director Taika Waititi confirmed that talks are currently underway in Marvel about the possibility of having changes in his character.

Waititi also added that any decision made for a character are done for the future films in the MCU. Meanwhile, aside from the introduction of Hela, Screen Crush reported that Samuel Jackson's Nick Fury might also appear in the movie.

But with Kevin Feige's previous statement that Thor: Ragnarok will be set primarily in the cosmos and less on Earth which could be a hint on the character's participation. Thor: Ragnarok is set to be directed by Taila Waititi and written by Stephany Folsom, Craig Kyle, and Christopher Yost. It is set to hit theaters on November 03, 2017.
