Samsung's Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update Officially Begins with Galaxy S6 Edge & Galaxy S6: Release Date in the US Coming Up

Samsung has finally begun rolling out earlier today the official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 phones in South Korea. Release in the United States is definitely expected soon.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 phones are now getting the official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in South Korea. The news was announced by Samsung Electronics on its webpage yesterday.

In a news report from said site, official Marshmallow update to other Galaxy phones and tablets "will soon follow." As stated, Samsung will roll out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update details for its other devices in other announcements. It furthered that release will depend on market situation and mobile carriers' requirements. With this information given at hand, it could be possible that Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 phones in the United States are also bound to the official update soon.

Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 were the first two phones to undergo the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow by the final week of January 2016.

With Marshmallow, Samsung brings in the enhanced edge screen and new edge screen features. It is said to be faster and more convenient, the company brought the phenomenal curved screen to a new level, boosting it from 260 pixels to 550.

In terms of its usability, the edge panels offers easier shortcuts to information and tasks with quick access which can carry up to nine panels, including People, Apps, Tasks and more.

With People edge, contact names are shown below photos of the person. The Apps edge can now accommodate up to 10 apps. Each app can carry folders for maximum organization advantage. Meanwhile, the Tasks panel opens shortcuts to most frequently used task and app features. The new Quick tools include a compass, flashlight and ruler.

All of these panels are accessible through customizing the Edge handle by modifying the location, size and transparency in the Settings menu. Users are free to play and work without the Handle interfering them.
