Jeff Bauman, who lost his legs in the Boston Marathon bombings, threw out the first pitch at Fenway Park before Tuesday night's Phillies-Red Sox game, CBS Sports reported.

Carlos Arredondo, his rescuer on the April 15 attacks, pushed Bauman out to the mound in a wheelchair.

Bauman threw a perfect strike to Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia.  

Immediately after one of the April 15 blasts wounded Bauman, Arrendondo rushed to his side. It was Bauman who provided key details to authorities, from his hospital bed, identifying the suspects. 

While in the intensive-care-unit, he wrote on a sheet of paper to his brother that he was eye-to-eye with one of the Tsarnaev brothers who committed the bombings, which killed three people and injured over 260. Bauman lost both his legs below the knee as two bombs exploded near the finish line at the marathon. It was Carlos Arredondo who wheeled him to safety.

"He woke up under so much drugs, asked for a paper and pen and wrote, 'bag, saw the guy, looked right at me," Jeff's brother Chris said in an interview a couple days after the attack. These words helped authorities lead to a massive manhunt of the Tsarnaevs, Bloomberg News also reported.

Tuesday marked the first time the two men were honored together, the Red Sox told the Associated Press.
