The Super Bowl weekend is still something that many are talking about as they relish the highlights of the event as well as the performances made by their favorite artists. But if there's one performer who stood out from the others, it would definitely be Lady Gaga who shocked everyone when she stepped on stage to sing the National Anthem.

Many were amazed that the "Poker Face" singer could actually sing like that, which proved why she was deserving to be called a great performer. But while Lady Gaga seems to be on a high from the reviews she received of her performance at the Super Bowl, there is another reason why the 29-year-old singer was recently in tears.

At the recently concluded Oscars Nominees Luncheon held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Lady Gaga received praise for her performance at the Super Bowl. During the luncheon, producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin went on stage to share a short speech to the crowd. During this time, Hill praised Gaga for her performance over the weekend; referring to it as "the best rendition I have ever heard, and, trust me, I've heard a lot." Considering this was an unexpected praise from one of the most respected producers, Gaga was surprised to hear her name. She also couldn't help the tears that rolled down her cheeks. The praise caught the singer off guard that she had to weep into her hands before she was able to regain composure from the compliment.

On an interview with Extra, Gaga is quoted to have said "I just thought about the lyrics and what they really mean. They've been around a long time, so I thought about what they mean now, I just sang from my heart."

The Oscars Nominees Luncheon is a yearly gathering wherein the nominees are treated to lunch by the Oscars producers. Gaga attended the event because her song "Till It Happens to You" from "The Hunting Ground" documentary was nominated for an award.
