'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' is an upcoming action and science-fiction film directed by James Gunn. The director as well as other members of the cast shared behind-the-scenes photographs from the filming set. Chris Pratt expressed his excitement to return as Star-Lord.

According to Uproxx, several cast and crew members took to their own respective social media accounts to share behind-the-scenes photographs on the filming set of the upcoming sequel to 2014's 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. Director James Gunn posted a photograph on Instagram showing the cast during rehearsals.

Zoe Saldana, who plays Gamora in the franchise, also shared her own photographs on Twitter. One image showed her in full makeup and costume while another was a silhouette shot of her together with another character.

According to Cinema Blend, leading man Chris Pratt also took to Twitter to announce his excitement over the new project. He shared a photograph of a Sony Walkman inserted with a mixtape labeled "awesome mix vol. 2".

He captioned it, "Feels good to be back in action on Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2!!! I can't even tell you how excited I am. Ok I'll try. I'm ecstatic. I'm bursting with joy. I'm overwhelmed by feelings of enthusiasm, joy, gratitude, conviviality, camaraderie, elation, exhilaration... Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Is going to be the greatest spectacle film of all time."

Pratt will reprise his role as the lead protagonist Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord, a half-human half-alien leader of the group called the Guardians of the Galaxy who was abducted by the Ravagers as a child. He grew up to be a thief and a smuggler and named himself a legendary outlaw of sorts. He eventually formed an tense alliance with Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Racoon and Groot.

According to The Independent, it was revealed that Star-Lord will eventually learn the true identity of his father in the upcoming film. Gunn previously confirmed that the character has already been cast.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' is an upcoming action and science-fiction film intended as a follow-up to the 2014 Marvel film of the same name. It is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) Phase Three and is directed by James Gunn. It features the return of Pratt, Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Dave Bautista as Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Drax, respectively.
