With exciting episodes coming up, "NCIS: Los Angeles" is regaining its audience. Although, the first two months of this season has garnered unimpressive household ratings of 1.33 in the 18-49 demographic.

The show's ratings last December 2015 had a small increase due to less competition against other networks and its three January 2016 episodes received a 1.57 same-day rating, nearing the network's scripted series average. Based on TV By The Numbers report, the show will either be renewed or cancelled by May 2016.

As for the official plot synopsis of episode 16, Spoilers Guide notes, "While they're in Russia, Special Agent G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell), Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and Anastasia "Anna" Kolcheck (Bar Paly) craft a plan to break Anna's father and his CIA agent companion out of prison. Also, Callen finally learns what the G. in his name stands for, and in Los Angeles, Agent Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) take Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) into the field on an assignment."

For a quick recap of the first part of "Matryoshka" episode, Hollywood Hills reported that the NCIS team, together with Anna, went undercover in Los Angeles to access the Russian Consul Genera's computer to trace Anna's father Arkady (Vyto Ruginis) in Russia.
