North Carolina Governor involved in car crash after Super Bowl; No major injuries sustained

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory was involved in a car incident that left him minor injuries while he was on his way to his next destination, an hour after the Carolina Panthers was defeated by Denver Broncos during the Super Bowl.

Governor McCrory was involved in an incident in San Jose along Highway 237 after the Carolina Panthers' game. According to WBTV, the California Highway Patrol vehicle that carried Gov. McCrory was rear-ended by a Mercedez. The car was totaled in the incident.

The North Carolina governor did not sustain major injuries but his office said in a statement that he experienced minor pain. As reported by ABC News, Gov. McCrory was also able to ride in another vehicle and reach his destination after the car crash.

Gov, McCrory also released a statement saying  thanks to the Carolina Panthers for their game,  as well as the Highway Patrol authorities for giving immediate response.  "We were very fortunate, and while I am still proud of the Carolina Panthers, this puts the game in proper perspective. I want to thank the California Highway Patrol and EMS for their professionalism and quick action", he said.

Before the Super Bowl game, Huffington Post reported that Gov. McCrory and  Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper made a friendly bet for their respective teams. Gov. Hickenlooper stated that he will donate 50 Osprey backpacks with school supplies to the North Carolina Shelter.

Hickenlooper also promised to give 50 cases of Pueblo Salsa, 500 boxes off 34 Degrees crackers, and 500 packages of Continental sausages to North Carolina's food bank in case the Broncos lose. Meanwhile, Gov. McCrory said that he will provide 50 cases of turkey burgers and 50 cases of turkey sausages made by Butterball to be given to Colorado's food bank if Panthers lose the game.

The secretaries of state from respective states also had their own friendly bet as well, vowing to donate to the food banks regardless of who wins, but the donation will be made in honor of the winning state. The Super Bowl ended with a victory for Denver Broncos with the score of 24-10.
