Retailer Currys PC World is  giving away discounts to Apple Watch of up to £120. This has powered speculations that the Apple Watch 2 might be released sooner than later.

According to Christian Post, it was on Thursday, February 4 when a Twitter user named Ashley Norris posted about significant discounts currently being offered by British retailer Currys PC World. His tweet goes "Interesting. Curry's PC World seriously discounting the #AppleWatch - £50-120 off." He also added that it might be clearing a backlog before the 2nd gen arrives.

The Apple Watch that has sports band in different colors is currently discounted at £50 off, except the stainless steel variant that is on sale for £100 less. On the other hand, the Apple Watch with Milanese Loop can be bought for £120 less.

The markdown has arrived after the said retailer obtained retail rights to the Apple device. Nonetheless, it was noted that this could be a standard sale but some have taken the huge discounts as a hint that the original Apple Watch will soon be replaced by its heavily rumored successor, the Apple Watch 2.

As of the moment, there are contradicting reports as to when the new Apple Watch would hit the market shelves. On the other hand, there are talks saying the watch will be revealed in March, together with the iPhone 6c or iPhone 5se, and other new Apple devices.

However, Morning News USA reported that Apple might also release the next Apple Watch version around September which is the same cycle for major iPhone upgrades. Formerly, information has surfaced suggesting that the release may be delayed because of supply chain constraints.

As for the specs, International Business Times stated that analyst Gene Munster, stated that the Apple Watch 2 will arrive having incremental enhancements compared to its predecessor. These basically mean that the radical design changes or new features cannot be expected from the upcoming smart watch.

Nevertheless, Munster stated that the smart watch will obtain a specification improvement in the form of a new powerful processor and bigger battery. To be more definite, this upcoming version will follow the pattern of Apple iPhone "s" models like iPhone 6s, 5s wherein the design remains the same, but under the chassis configurations will go through some developments. 

Additionally, the second-generation Apple Watch is slated to sport a FaceTime camera and an in-built Wi-Fi connectivity. 

But as usual, Apple hasn't confirmed anything about the second generation of Apple Watch. One thing is sure though; the company is working on WatchOS 2.2 update which was reported to be on beta testing last month.
