'Spider-Man' is an upcoming superhero film starring Tom Holland in the lead role. It is scheduled to be released on July 7 on IMAX 3D.

According to Digital Trends, the yet untitled 'Spider-Man' reboot is set to premiere in theaters on July 7, 2017. The new standalone film from Marvel and Sony will introduce rising star Tom Holland as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man. It will be directed by John Watts based on the screenplay by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will be serving as producer together with Amy Pascal, with Eric Hauserman Carroll co-producing. Marvel Comics' former president and chairman Stan Lee will be executive producing together with Matthew Tolmac.

The new film is a collaboration between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment and will be the sixth installment in the highly popular franchise, according to Variety. The new film was announced on February 2015 and was originally slated to be released on July 28, 2017 but pushed forward to July 7 of the same year.

According to IGN, Watt's reboot will be digitally remastered for IMAX 3D. Josh Greenstein, president of  Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, announced the news just recently. He said in a statement, "There's so much about Spider-Man - including the web-slinging action - that lends itself perfectly to the IMAX screen. We are confident that audiences everywhere around the world will want to see it in IMAX."

Holland will be joined by Marisa Tomei, who will be playing a young Aunt May. The 19-year old British actor broke into the entertainment industry for his role as Billy Elliot in 'Billy Elliot the Musical' that played at the Victoria Palace Theater in London.

He went on to appear in feature films such as Juan Antonio Bayona's Spanish disaster drama, 'The Impossible,' with Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor as well as Ron Howard's biographical drama-adventure film 'In The Heart of the Sea' with Chris Hemsworth and Cilian Murphy. He is set to make his debut in the MCU as Spider-Man in the upcoming 'Captain America: Civil War' slated to be released on May 6, 2016.

'Spider-Man' is an upcoming adventure-fantasy film based on the Marvel comic book superhero of the same name. It is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2017. It is a reimagining of Peter Parker's story and will follow the character through his teenage years.
