Better Call Saul co-executive producer Peter Gould offered some insights on how Jimmy McGill will be facing his journey next season as a struggling lawyer.

When we last checked-in on the Breaking Bad spinoff, the show’s protagonist (Bob Odenkirk) made a vow to himself that his days of always going by the rules have come to an end.

Although longtime fans of Breaking Bad already know what Jimmy has become, it’s still a lingering question as to what experiences he had gone through that allowed for his transition into the dirty lawyer that is Saul Goodman.

According to showrunner Peter Gould, viewers shouldn’t expect that Jimmy will quickly figure out his smart, manipulative future-self in the episodes of Season 2.

Rather, he will rely on his innate skills as a “natural-born problem solver” to forge himself out of dire situations.

"It's not an instantaneous light switch that turns him into Saul Goodman," Gould TV Guide in a report.

Also, Jimmy’s relationships with his brother Chuck and Kim will also be affected by his decision to go the opposite direction.

"Jimmy and Chuck's relationship moves into a very different area this season," Gould promises.

As for Mike, fans should be warned that as his relationship with Jimmy becomes deeper, he will embark on a dangerous path in season two.

As seen in the new "Better Call Saul" featurette released by AMC, these characters and their unique personalities/motivations are really going to play a role into Jimmy’s badass transformation.

As Zap2it wrote: “Series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould chime in on the crazy twists and turns coming in the new season and by the looks of it — things are going to get wild, dark, and big”.

In other developments, veteran actor Ed Begley Jr. has landed a multi-episode arc in season two. Per Entertainment Weekly, he will play an authority figure who possess a kind of power to make Jimmy’s dreams happen.

Better Call Saul season 2 premieres on Sunday, Feb. 15th at 10PM.
