'Alien: Covenant' Updates: Ridley Scott to shoot film as 'pretty hard R'; Promises to top previous 'chestburster' scene

Latest updates reveal that Ridley Scott's 'Alien: Covenant' will be rated as pretty hard R. The director also promised that several scenes will top the 'chestburster' clip shown in previous Aliens films.

The Independent reported that while Ridley Scott was speaking backstage at the Golden Globes, the talented director spoke of his aim to shoot Alien: Covenant in a 'pretty hard R' fashion. The director revealed a few details about the plot of the film, but he teased the fans when the director said he's got something 'much worse' than the iconic 'chestburster' scene in store.

Ridley Scott is scheduled to travel to Australia to begin the production of Alien: Covenant, as reported by Coming Soon. Neil Blomkamp's proposed storyline for Alien: Covenant was placed on hold by 20th Century Fox due to Ridley Scott's film. It has been reported that Aliens 5 won't resume its production until Alien: Covenant or Prometheus 2 is done shooting. Some speculations say that the filming will begin by next summer at the very least.

Meanwhile, Management Group MCTV shares a casting breakdown asking for actors who are 8-40 years old that are very tall and skinny and very short but very physically agile and strong. It was also posted on their website that other skills such as acrobats, gymnasts, contortionists, Cirque du Soleil type of performers are requested. One could infer that these performers are about to play Xenomorphs.

In late 2015, Ridley Scott said that the team will have them all; face-hugger, 'chestburster', eggs, and the big boy himself. The director also explained the Alien: Covenant will reveal a destroyed Engineer planet. Moreover, Scott wanted to get his hands to expanding the universe of Aliens film and interweaving it into one sensational series. Noomi Rapace and Fassbender will reprise their roles in Alien: Covenant while newcomer Katherine Waterson will be added.
