HTC's name has been ringing off the hook these days when it comes to software updates. As February opens, speculations arise that AT&T might be rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update this week to its HTC One M9 phones, following a revelation of Mo Versi last January 16.

HTC One M9 units of AT&T have been reported to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow via official over-the-air (OTA) update. According to previous reports, the roll out of the mobile carrier might commence this week, as HTC promised mid-January that the update will be up after Sprint's.

On January 16, Versi responded to a Twitter follower asking about the release of Marshmallow to AT&T's One M9 units. He replied: "@StegmanMatt @gtrovil We're still working with AT&T on the update. Will require a few more weeks. I'll let you know once we're ready. Thx (sic)."

HTC already announced last month that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is coming to One M9 units of Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. Meanwhile, One M8 units in Canada already received the update during the final week of January. As it was reported, update shall come to One M9 and One M8 units in the United States a week after.

One M9 can also be updated to Marshmallow using the Maximun HD 7.0.0 ROM created by LlabTooFeR. The custom build brings its own enhancements for Sense 7.0 user interface, an updated set of emojis and a slew of other performance improvements.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with Now on Tap, app standby, fingerprint support, Doze Mode, USB Type-C support, simpler volume controls, more secured Android Pay, new app drawer, and security fixes.

Marshmallow will also bring in device switch, enhanced cut, copy and paste, direct share, better app backup and restore, support for various mobile payments, and several other enhancements that would take users to a higher new level of Android experience.
