Jameis Winston will not charged of any rape case that has been thrown at him as Florida State University will pay Erica Kinsman $250,000 and her lawyers $700,000  as part of the settlement. The plaintiff accused Winston of rape in 2012 and the school with indifference.

Jameis Winston, a 2013 Heisman Trophy winner, was a popular student athlete in Florida State University who got involved in rape case filed by Erica Kinsman four years ago. The complainant was forced to leave the university because of the harassment she went through in accordance with allegations against the student athlete, The Guardian shared.

The United States Department of Education had looked into the case and investigated further as there was a separate accusation in opposition to Florida State University.

Erica Kinsman, on the other hand, had expressed her disappointment to the school.  According to USA Today, the school did not admit to any liability following the said settlement as they have agreed to settle to avoid further litigation charges. The school had expressed that they do have an obligation to their students and to the taxpayers in Florida; hence, the settlement issue.

James Thrasher, Florida State University's president, expressed that they have settled the case once and for all to consider their stakeholders. The school and its administrators called the lawsuit without merit when it was initially filed in January 2015. They have reportedly asked Erica Kinsman side for about nine times in a 20-month period to give her statement, CNN cited.

Now, the case between Erica Kinsman and Florida State University's star player, Jameis Winston can be considered closed. The school is finally moving on after the said settlement was made.
