Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has just begun arriving to HTC One M9 units in the United Kingdom and it is very huge. Will One M8 phones in United States getting it this week?

HTC One M9 units are beginning to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update today following release late last week to One M8. This news broke on Twitter following One M9 owners posted screen shots of the update process via famous ROM developer and leakster, LlabTooFeR.

The Marshmallow upgrade is as huge as 1.26 GB. It has build number 3.35.401.12.

Update to One M9 phones in the US is expected to follow. However, there are new no confirmation yet, not even hints, that it is coming this week.

Overall so far, One M9 phones updated as of this time are the ones in Canada under the carrier Telus. Carriers in the US like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular have not expressed any official word yet so everything remains to be speculation for now.

According to the Android Authority blog, its report on January 19, the day Marshmallow began releasing to One M8 in UK, stated that update for One M9 should come "shortly" after One M8 although exact time frame has not been clarified.

Since One M9 is already carrying the Sense 7.0 user interface, Marshmallow is expected to offer the device with some changes and improvements. Meanwhile, Android 6.0 will bring in native features like a redesigned app drawer, micro SD support, more convenient notification area, custom Chrome tabs, Google Now on Tap, USB Type-C and USB 3.1 support, Doze mode, fingerprint support, RAM memory manager, simplified volume slide, app links, floating window for text selection, new screenshots options, system user interface tuner, direct share and apps and settings backup.

With the heavy upgrade, One M9 owners can expect more from HTC.
