The death of an inmate in Box Elder County jail is being investigated by the police authorities. The said inmate was booked into the said prison on Saturday and was sent to a holding cell. He was discovered unconscious and later on died at the hospital, officials said.

According to Salt Lake Tribune, two police department from the outside law enforcement agencies is leading the investigation on the death of the said inmate. Investigators from the Cache Cache County Sheriff's Office and Brigham City Police Department are conducting a probe of the case, said by Dale Ward, the Chief Box Elder Sheriff's Deputy.

Rex Iverson, 45 years old was discovered unconscious in a holding cell, on Friday afternoon. The the Box Elder County Sheriff's office said, Iverson was put inside his holding cell, and when authorities returned, he had passed out. He was rushed to the hospital and later on, died there, KUTV reported.

The Deputies checked on his condition upon the discovery together with the paramedics, who tried to revive him. However, he was declared dead at the Brigham hospital. Ward would not disclose the details on how Iverson died. However, he said he was alone in the cell and no foul play happened.

Rex Iverson was booked on Saturday afternoon for having outstanding warrant from the Justice Court in Tremonton City. According to Fox 13, the Critical Incident Protocol ruled that investigators from the Northern Utah Critical Incident Team were called to conduct the investigation since he was in custody of the Box Elder County Jail at the time he died.

The cause of death is under investigation and currently, there's still no indication of foul play on. An autopsy will determine the cause of death. Iverson was arrested on the 23^rd of January and on a warrant related to his failure to appear for a civil case.
