When viewers tune-in on the midseason premiere of Quantico, they shouldn’t keep their hopes up that everyone remains alive following the fall finale explosion. Co-executive producers Josh Safran and Jake Coburn have confirmed that the gritty FBI drama is going to lose atleast one of the NATS when the latest episode unspools.
"I can tell you that 32 people are not going to make it out of that building alive," Safran said in a report from TV Line.
Series star Priyanka Chopra, who portrays Alex, corroborated Safran’s statement saying that indeed, viewers should prepare to say goodbye to a few Quantico characters.
“There will be people who you know who won’t be a part of this anymore,” and that will affect Alex and her friends in a huge way,” the actress said.
TV Line also wrote that Quantico will take viewers into a three-month time jump on its midseason premiere. A period wherein a lot of burning questions will be answered.
“We come back a few months after, and now that the second bomb went off, people are like, ‘Oh, maybe Alex wasn’t the terrorist,’ so what happens after that? What happens in the Command Center, where everyone was?” Chopra commented in a report from Entertainment Weekly.
On minor arcs, Safran and Coburn added that fans will see more of Hannah (Eliza Coupe) in future storylines. They also gave away something about Raina’s evolution as a character in the back half of the season.
"While it may appear that Raina has sidelined herself, there's actually a purpose for it, and it's going to become apparent soon," Safran promised.
The remaining episodes of Quantico will air beginning on Sunday, March 6 on ABC. The network is yet to announce whether the series will get a second season.
