Taiwanese tech company Asus recently unveiled its newest device in Brazil. Dubbed as the Asus Live, the handset features a MediaTek Quad-core CPU, 5-inch display, 8-megapixel camera and other amazing specs.

According to PhoneRadar, the Asus Live sports a 5-inch 720p display, which is not the best in mid-range, as smartphone manufacturers are now offering up to full HD displays in this range. Under the chassis, Live is engineered with aMediaTek MT6580 processor, which clocks at 1.3GHz. This processor is a quad-core chipset that is in direct competition with the Snapdragon 410. It is packed with a 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB eMMC Flash storage that can also be expanded up to 64GB via the microSD card slot.

The Asus Live runs on the ZenUI that is found on most Asus smartphones. However, as the first non-Zenfone device from company, the device might have some different set of features and apps pre-installed in the system which is based on the Android Lollipop 5.1 version.

As for the handset's camera, it has an 8-megapixel image sensor on the rear while a 2-megapixel camera module on the front. The back is accompanied by a LED flash and is autofocus unlike the front module. Nevertheless, both cameras use the PixelMaster technology that the Taiwanese giant has being using on its Zenfone smartphones like original Zenfone 5, Zenfone 2, Zenfone 2 Laser and Zenfone Selfie.

As for the price, International Business Times stated on its article that the Asus Live is currently on sale in Brazil for 849 BRL at around $211/€193/Rs 14, 210. It is accessible in blue, pink and yellow variety of colors. This smartphone is expected to be launched in other markets soon.

In related news, NDTV Gadgets reported that Asus is set to launch its ZenFone Zoom smartphone in India on January 22. The ZenFone Zoom was first seen at CES 2015 but has yet to see wide availability. This device is running on Android 5.0 Lollipop with the Asus ZenUI on top. It features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.7 to f/4.8-aperture, 10-element lenses with 3X optical zoom, OIS (optical image stabilization), laser autofocus, and dual-colour Real Tone flash. The company boasts that with a thickness of just 11.95mm, the ZenFone Zoom is the world's thinnest 3X optical smartphone offering up to 12X zoom-in effect.

Going back to Asus Live, it is expected to reach other markets following its laucn in Brazil. As for its schedule, the company is yet to announce further details.
