Phoenix Office Shooting: Police Hunt for Gunmen Who Shot at least 3 People

By

The Phoenix police have said they are searching for a man they say shot at least three people in an office complex on Wednesday morning. One of the victims was wounded critically, and the remaining two were less severe, according to Sgt. Tommy Thompson.

Police indicated that the gunman got into a dispute with someone at the building, escalated to the point where the man pulled a gun out and opened fire. The shooting occurred inside a mortgage company at 10:30 a.m, but police remain unsure what kind of gun was used. The suspect is described as a white male in his 60s.

The gunfire caused workers throughout the complex to lock the doors to their offices and hide far from the windows, according to news reports, as SWAT officers searched the building.

Fox News and the Associated Press reported that an elite police team surrounded a house 7 miles from the shooting scene that police said was connected to the shooting. The victims were transferred to John C. Lincoln Hospital with gunshot wounds. The shooting took place moments after former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, the victim of a shooting in Tuscon in January 2011, testified before a Senate Guns Hearing.
