Democrat Candidates Need To Back Gun Law to Get Obama’s Support

By

Obama said on Thursday that he will not support any democrats who will not support his gun reforms. The United States President is dead serious when he said that gun reforms should happen and should be supported by all politicians.

Reuters reported that Obama wrote in an op-ed column in New York Times that the country needs a leader that is not afraid to change the gun laws. The country needs governors, mayors, and congress that will do their part to change what is wrong. He added that "I will not campaign for, vote for or support any candidate, even in my own party, who does not support common-sense gun reform." Obama sees the need to toughen the laws concerning gun ownership after all those mass shooting that happened.

Earlier this week, the Democratic presidential front-runner, Hillary Clinton, commended Obama's gun action. She also argued that her main rival Sen. Bernie Sanders isn't rough enough on guns and is too lax about it. The Hill stated that Hilary Clinton tackled the issue near the end of last year in the rise of a series of high-profile mass shootings. With what Obama said, it will surely affect the early voting in Iowa and New Hampshire where Clinton and Sanders are clashing

According to the Politico, the President is consistent with his message about gun laws. Obama said he respects the Second Amendment, people having the right to bear arms to protect them. He also understood that people wanted to have guns for leisure like hunting. However, he emphasized that almost everyone will agree that guns need to be away with people who will want to do others harm - or do themselves harm.

Obama will talk more about his campaign for tougher gun laws in his last State of the Union Address. Republicans and Conservative people are still against Obama's new rules about guns.
