Republican 2016 presidential candidates criticised President Barack Obama's gun regulation announcement.

According to the USA Today, Obama undercuts the Second Amendment and is overstepping the limits of his executive power.

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush bashed Obama's plan to tighten background checks and restriction on guns as "an utter disregard for the Second Amendment as well as the proper constitutional process for making laws in our nation."

"It's part of a broader narrative," said Florida Senator Marco Rubio. "And that is that this president is obsessed with undermining the Constitution in general, but the Second Amendment in particular."

CBS News wrote that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is among those who didn't approve of the Obama's plan and said it would be better to improving "institutions for people that are sickos." Trump even said that he would "unsign" any gun regulations that Obama will implement, saying he will terminate it when he gets to office.

"You know, the system's supposed to be you get the Democrats, you get the Republicans, and you make deals. He can't do that. He can't do that," said Trump in a report by WHOTV. "So he's going to sign another executive order having to do with the Second Amendment, having to do with guns. I will veto. I will unsign that so fast."

Meanwhile, the president argued that "this is not a plot to take away everybody's guns." Republicans always put gun issues into high regards.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz also pledged to rescind the president's move on gun control. Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee even resorted to call Obama's plan as a "blatant, belligerent abuse of power." He said, "I will never bow down and surrender to Obama's unconstitutional, radical, anti-gun agenda."

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson through a tweet said that the president's actions is all about political gains, and has minimum benefits to protect the people.
