'The Good Wife' Season 7 airs 'Iowa' episode on Jan. 10; Eli's reasons behind his confession revealed

CBS has finally released the official plot for "The Good Wife" Season 7 Episode 11. The fall finale (episode 10) has been mentioned as well. That said, EPs Robert and Mihelle King discussed Eli's reasons behind his long overdue confession.

The official plot synopsis for The Good Wife Season 7 episode 11 has been released by CBS. Hollywood Hills notes "Tensions will run high as the entire Florrick family is crammed into Peter Florrick's (Chris Noth) campaign bus with Eli and Ruth Eastman (Margo Martindale) on their way to the Iowa Caucuses. Once there, Peter is going to attempt a high-risk political stunt to gain votes for his presidential bid."

About the previous episode (fall finale), TV Line reports that Eli finally confessed to Alicia about deleting Will Gardner's (Josh Charles) voice messages as seen on season 1. Eli erased the said message to avoid Peter's run. Will's voice message contains how Will loved Alicia and that he is willing to sacrifice everything just to be with her.

Regarding Eli's confession, executive producers Robert and Michael King teased to Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming mid-season finale and what fans should expect as the CBS series resumes in 2016. The producers cited the reasons why Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) finally admitted the truth to Alicia Florrick (Juliana Margulies) about the secret he'd been keeping for 6 years now.

The Kings' stated that Eli's pain over Courtney Wells (Vanessa Williams) departure and the reason for her leaving. Plus, he cannot consume the guilt feeling anymore of how he maneuvered Jason Crouse (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) away from Alicia.

"The Good Wife" Season 7 Episode 11 is entitled as "Iowa". The series is set to return on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. exclusively on CBS. "The Good Wife" is an American legal and political drama TV series created by Robert and Michelle King. The storylin takes place in Chicago.
