Microsoft recently released an update to its Surface Pro 4, bringing fixes to minor problems on the device such as slow boot times and keyboard related problems.

According to Tech Radar, the Surface Pro 4 Firmware Update (v1.0.420.0) "enhances stability with Surface Pro 4 Type Cover" for the Surface Pro 4. The Surface Base Firmware Update (v.1.1.421.0) on the other hand, improves touchpad and keyboard experience for Surface Book owners.

The updates are being rolled out in stages, so Windows 10 might have not announced it yet. If this is the case in the user's device, they could simply head over to Windows Update where they will appear as System Firmware / Hardware Update.

Meanwhile, Inquistr cited that Microsoft has been doubling its effort over the past month delivering updates to make both the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book work as well as advertised. Unluckily, there have been a lot of issues and complaints about bugs in both of the devices. Last week, it was reported that Microsoft has apologized for the issues in both the Surface Book and Surface Pro .

Waltonian cited some of the features that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has. This device has a detachable screen, which owners can use as a tablet. They can  fold it over the keyboard and use it as a canvas for the creative pursuits using the Surface Pen. Depending on the configuration, the Surface Pro 4 has 4 GB, 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage.

This device is the biggest rival to Apple's iPad Pro, but it has a screen flickering issue which was discovered by some users. With this, Microsoft had to release a new driver for the HD Graphics 520 integrated graphics unit, in order to fix the problem.

The popularity of tablets that offer laptop capabilities is likely to continue in 2016, with Google expected to release its Pixel C tablet at some point. The said apology was reportedly  followed up by thanking the users for their "open and candid feedback on Surface Book and Surface Pro 4".
