OnePlus 2 Receives OxygenOS 2.2.0 Upgrade With Several Fixes

OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 2.2.0 upgrade to OnePlus 2 owners. The update is through over-the-air and is expected to reach the OnePlus 2 users gradually.

According to Ubergizmo, OnePlus has a very special present for OnePlus 2 users coming in the form of a wonderful new OxygenOS firmware that will bring the version number up to 2.2.0. With the OxygenOS 2.2.0, it will provide a range of bug fixes as well as security patches alongside other new features.

It was mentioned in details that the complete change log of the newest OxygenOS update include fixed dual SIM preference selection issues in settings, NTFS and exFAT support for OTG, fixed Google Camera photo-sphere and panorama bugs. The OxygenOS 2.2.0 also brings a feature wherein the screen temperature can now be adjusted from quick settings. There is also an added hide search bar option in launcher settings, some security patches, holiday wallpapers, general bug fixes and optimizations.

NDTV Gadgets reported that the latest update came almost a month after the OxygenOS 2.1.2 update has been released for the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X smartphones. With this, OnePlus fans could expect a similar update to rollout to the OnePlus X in upcoming days.

Late last month, OnePlus X also started obtaining the OxygenOS 2.1.3 OTA update that focused on improving the user experience withe the aforementioned additional features.

As a refresher, Tech2 noted that OnePlus 2 has a metal-frame design making it look premium. This device features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port. The fingerprint scanner is reportedly faster than the iPhone TouchID and lets users save up to five fingerprints.

As for the camera, the smartphone is armed with a 13-megapixel snapper. It  has a new camera and a new solution that allows users to take 50MP photos, as well as a slow motion mode. It is engineered with the Snapdragon 810 paired that has 4 GB RAM and powered by a 3,300mAh battery.

Upon upgrading to OxygenOS 2.2.0, the users of OnePlus 2 handset will experience a lot of changes and security fixes on the device. Other OnePlus smartphones like OnePlus X should receive the same upgrade sometime soon.
