According to reports the death certificate of actress Natalie Wood whose mysterious death continues to haunt the nation, has been amended from "accidental drowning" to "drowning and other undetermined factors," implying ambiguity of her death 30 years in the Pacific Ocean off Catalina Island in Southern California.

According to Steve Whitmore, Spokesman of Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the case continues to be under "open and active investigation," according to ABC News.

Chief of Detectives William McSweeney told NBC, "I would just say undetermined is descriptive...We don't close these cases...These cases have active periods and more passive periods. We're moving toward the end of an active period."

Investigation the death of the actress was renewed nine months ago.

On November 29, 1981 Wood was found dead. At the times, reports suggested that the 43-year-old actress was first thought to have drowned to death. However, a post-mortem revealed bruises and marks on her body that were inconsistent and suspicious. At the time of her death Wood was on the boat with her husband Robert Wagner, also an actor and co-star Christopher Walken.

Wood gained huge popularity as a child-actress, starring in the iconic "Miracle on 34^th Street," as an adult she went to star in super-hit movies such as "West Side Story," "From Here to Eternity," "The great Race," "Rebel With a Cause," "Splendor in the Grass,"  and "Inside Daisy Clover."
