Robin Williams Funeral Update: Westboro Baptist Church threatens to picket the actor’s funeral; Funeral details to be announced soon

By

Amid the fans and the entire entertainment industry grieving of the loss of the legendary comedian actor Robin Williams, a self-professed Christian organization threatens to picket the actor's funeral.

The Westboro Baptist Church, an organization known for staging spiteful, anti-LGBT and anti-media protests, is reportedly planning to hold a rally at Williams's funeral to condemn the life he lived, told Epoch Times. Immediately after the announcement about William's death, the group posted a myriad of hateful tweets expressing its condemnation of the actor's life, which hint at a possible attempt to picket his memorial service.

An August 12 Twitter post of the self-declared congregation revealed their plans to picket Williams's funeral.

"We in Bay Area with "Robin in Hell" signs.  Show us the memorial/candlelight vigil service!  #havesignwilltravel!" the tweet wrote.

Denouncing the late actor's way of life, WBC also shared a tweet that read, "@robinwilliams in Hell for engaging in & glorifying sin. How ya like dem apples?"

The group also posted photos claiming that the deceased Williams was an "enabler" of LGBT.

"According to all evidence, God hates Robin Williams & he's in hell," the caption read.

The Westboro Baptist Church is a small, self-proclaimed religious group in Kansas that is known to blame the rampancy of immorality in the world on people's tolerance for the LGBT, told CBS San Francisco. The group is notorious for their members who actively participate in a lot of protests against LGBT, US government, and the media. The organization has been picketing events and funerals around USA, including the memorial services of AIDS victims and US soldiers.

Meanwhile, details about Robin Williams's funeral are yet to be confirmed, but the family of the departed actor will make the announcement soon, Christian Today reported. While it is not yet clear whether or not the family will allow the public to grace the actor's funeral, a lot of fans have offered memorials for the actor, including the actor's spot in the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles and the Good Will Hunting bench in Boston Public Garden.

Williams, 63, was declared dead last August 11 due to asphyxia caused by an apparent suicide. The late actor leaves behind three children and wife Susan Schneider.
