Nicole Murphy and Michael Strahan split; Murphy photographed with ex Jim Jackson in Puerto Rico

Hollywood Exes star Nicole Murphy had broken up with her fiancée of five years, American football star Michael Strahan after she found out he was cheating on her.

TMZ expounded on the issue when a source told them that Nicole first heard that Michael might be dating another woman in early July and she started to do a little digging. The source added that she was finally convinced and immediately decided to go public.

Coincidence or not, Enstars reported that Murphy announced the split during Strahan's speech as he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. The site added that it isn't clear what proof Murphy had to make the break with Strahan.

Meanwhile, a source from Strahan's camp said that the footballer was completely "blindsided" by Murphy's decision to end the relationship and added that they think Murphay had an ulterior motive behind the timing, Enstars added.

Moreover, an article by Page Six speculated that the split was due to a contentious negotiation over money, and more specifically, their prenup. The source told Page Six, "Nicole was unwilling to sign a prenup, even though Michael has consistently been very generous to her." The article added that Strahan was supportive of Murphy when she sued Troy David Statos for $7 million in 2010, after he allegedly persuaded her to invest her money overseas.

To add fuel to the breakup between Strahan and Murphy, TMZ dropped a bombshell that Murphy was on a secret vacation with former flame and NBA star, Jim Jackson weeks before she announced the breakup with Strahan.

The gossip website ran photos of Jackson and Murphy as they were vacationing at the Dorado Beach Ritz-Carlton in Puerto Rico, where they stayed from July 7 to 10. The photos showed that the two seemed to be getting a little cozy and affectionate.

However, a source told TMZ that Murphy had gone to Puerto Rico with some girlfriends and just happened to run into Jackson, who is an old friend of hers and they "hung out." The source added that it wasn't serious.
