Kelsey Grammer testimony denies sister's killer parole, forgives the man instead

Little did we know that funnyman Kelsey Grammer has a family tragedy as baggage as he enthralled audiences in his now defunct comedy sitcom "Frazier." Daily Mail reported that earlier this week, Grammer testified via satellite link for the parole hearing of 57 year-old Freddie Glenn. Glenn was found guilty of kidnapping and murdering Grammer's 18 year-old sister, Karen Elisa, back in 1975. Karen was leaving her job at a Red Lobster restaurant in Colorado Springs when Glenn took her. Fox News noted that Glenn was also convicted of killing two men in separate occasions.

Despite the fact that the incident was a little over 40 years ago, Grammer's facade in the video showed that he was still grieving for his sister's untimely death. Clearly emotional, the "Cheers" star was quoted as saying, "'I accept that you live with remorse, but I live with tragedy every day. I accept your apology. I forgive you. However, I cannot give your release my endorsement."

Grammer also said that by giving his blessing, it would had him betray his sister's life.

The Denver Post said Grammer was not the only one who was distraught during the parole hearing. Glenn reportedly appeared tearful at times while he said his apologies in court and also to Grammer. He also said that he was also the same age as Grammer's sister, and he believes he deserved a second chance. While Grammer was testifying, Glenn actually interrupted with his apology.

In 1975, it was found in court that Glenn abducted Grammer's sister with accomplice Michael Corbett. Karen Elisa was waiting for her boyfriend in her car then when the abduction happened, Daily Mail recounted. Karen Elisa was not the two's primary target, as they have attempted to rob her place of employment and thought that she might be a witness who could identify the pair to police. KKTV said that she was repeatedly raped over four hours at an apartment. Trial documents said that although she was told that she would be let go and released from a car at a mobile home park, Glenn, who was under the influence of LSD, slit her throat instead and left her on the ground. Although she managed to make it at a nearby mobile home, no one answered her call. She died on the back porch of that home.

Kelsey identified her sister's body a week later.
