A Texas family is mourning a father who died of a heart attack while trying to save his teenage son, who was accidentally shot and killed by his brother.

A 15-year-old teen accidentally shot his brother, Joshua Gonzales, 17, according to reporting by FOX 26. Gonzales father, Julian "Jay," then tried to save his son's life but suffered a heart attack and died.

Jay was a single father and beloved tattoo artist in Texas City. He was described by friends as "a good man" and loving father.

"He did so much for so many people. Now he's gone. I know this world is going to feel it. He touched a lot of hearts. He did a lot for the community," Melo Salazar, a friend and business partner of Jay's, told FOX 26.
