A Tennessee woman has been arrested after posting a video of her kicking an infant child in the head to social media, officials say.

24-year-old Jatina Ballard was arrested when officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) responded to a "child abuse call for service" at the 300 block of Rio Vista Drive around 3 a.m. on Sunday.

Ballard had allegedly kicked her seven-month-old child in the head repeatedly. The child had been crying for about half an hour.

The video, which demonstrated evidence of the abuse, appeared to have been filmed by Ballard and posted online, police noted. The individual who initially called law enforcement to report the abuse showed officials the footage.

Ballard was identified as the abusive individual in the video as she had "the exact same clothing on."

She was then taken into custody.

The child was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by the Nashville Fire Department (NFD).

Ballard is being held at Metro Jail on a $10,000 bond for the felony abuse of a child aged eight or younger.
