It's hard to choose what not to eat but even harder to decide which is more nutritional for you? Here we break down differences between spinach and kale for dieters.
When people start dieting or eating healthier, it can get difficult to choose what not to eat, but even harder to decide which one would be healthier for you in the long run. For a long time, dieters and nutrition enthusiasts have been trying to figure out which would be healthier for the body: spinach or kale. There are time when a nutrition showdown is necessary to display the facts, and that time is now to answer a question that's been on many people's minds: Should you eat kale or spinach?
For many people who have hopped on the nutrition wagon and who chose to somewhat follow a healthier lifestyle, kale has been the find of green vegetable that has been with the "in" crowd for the past few years. Juicy, full of nutrition, and according to Popsugar.com, the vegetable is delicious when prepared correctly. Despite all of these popular things, however, this a vegetable out there that has the same qualities and is less difficult to chew, and it goes by the name of spinach.
Wellnesstoday claims that while they both share the same benefits, spinach wins over kale in particular ways while kale win over spinach in others. In terms of fiber, iron and folate, spinach wins if it is cooked or prepared correctly. In terms of calcium, Vitamin A and Vitamin K, Kale is the victor here. In the end, it all depends on what is preferred by the one consuming the healthy greens, putting their preference and what their body needs above all else, making the nutritional showdown between spinach and kale a draw, or at least no winner in terms of which one is better than the other since preference is always a major factor in determining what the consumer desires.
