More Americans Support Vaccination on Children

By

The Vaccine Autism study changed the opinions of various Americans regarding administering vaccines on children, but recent polls reveal a significant change in views. A study suggesting that vaccines are somehow related to autism has made an impact on a number of American citizens.

According to TheWashingtonPost, this includes United States President Donald Trump, who has a history of being critical towards the use of vaccines. Andrew Wakefield is the man responsible for the modern anti-vaccine movement. Wakefield's research showed a connection between autism and the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine.

The report revealed that Wakefield's vaccine-autism study is now considered as fraudulent and has been fully discredited. While there's no update if Trump has changed his views regarding vaccines, the majority of American citizens already changed theirs.

According to LiveScience, statistics reveal that a large percentage of Americans are in favor of the MMR vaccine. In fact, a Pew Research poll shows that 82 percent of American adults believe children should be required to receive MMR vaccines.

In contrast, there is only 7 percent of the respondents who believe the benefits of the vaccine is low. This number not only reflected on families with lower annual income, it also represented families with higher annual income as well.

The recent poll revealed a massive 97 percent of families with a large yearly income are in favor of MMR vaccination. The poll results suggest that more and more American adults now believe that vaccines are more beneficial than harmful.

Another recent study showed new findings in regards to vaccine safety beyond the views of the debunked Vaccine Autism study. According to IdahoStatesman, vaccines have significantly greater benefits compared to its risks.

While it's reported that vaccines aren't considered as perfectly safe, its positive effects overwhelmingly outweighs its negative effects. As a matter of fact, the report concluded that the chances of vaccines to prevent disease and benefit children is 40,000 times greater than its chances of causing negative side effects. With that said, Americans are finally opening up to vaccine safety after the disregarded Vaccine Austism study connection was discredited.
