Top Problems Of 'PlayStation VR' Revealed, How To Fix Them?

By

When VR was announced as a reality for the gaming community, gamers from all over the world clamored to get their hands on a piece of what was considered clearly the next step in gaming evolution. This, however, always comes at a cost, and like many other pieces of technology before it, it would come with its own set of issues and technical difficulties. While there are various different problems for different people, here we have compiled a list of some of the most common problems from Digital Trends and Pocket-lint.com with Playstation's VR and how to find a solution for these problems.

1. Tracking Issues: The headset can have tracking issues, meaning your movement might not be tracked properly or one might see an "outside area" message. Since the headset and tracking is based on the numbers of blue lights on the headset, it might have to do with the light source, so one of the solutions may be to make sure you're not near any bright sources of light that might confuse the machine. One must also make sure they're not too far or too close to the PS4's sensor bar. Then again, there could also be the possibility of other bluetooth devices interfering with the headset, so make sure to check for those as well.

2. Headset either won't power on or turns off: Usually this is something not to fret about, as it is common for technology like this to be connected to a lot of things. If there is a problem with it still not turning on despite being completely connected, try checking if a software update is required or if it's a hardware problem. A mix of solutions involve cleaning the attachment sensor, making sure the cables are all plugged in correctly, and last but not least, calling Sony's customer service hotline.

3. Blurry On-Screen Image: This is admittedly one of the more common problems of the VR headset. The remedy is relatively simple, and can be done by simply adjusting the device so that it may better fit your eye orientation and unique head measurements.

4. On-Screen "Drifting" Image: Another one of the more common problems of Sony's headset. This issue is mostly resolved by adjusting your camera or re-calibrating your headset. If all else fails, you can always contact the customer support hotline for further assistance.

5. Playstation VR is making you sick: This is another common problem that does not necessarily have to do with the hardware but instead with the player's equilibrium and balance. The usual solution for this issue is that there is no real solution since it varies from person to person, but some of the more common tips provided by other VR users are doing things like not playing standing up, closing your eyes briefly to see if it goes away, taking peppermint or ginger, taking Dramamine, or choosing less intense VR experiences.

While there are may be more problems for VR users, these happen to be the top most common, and hopefully the solutions will lead you to a more immersive gameplay experience.
