NBA News: Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry Expected to Re-Sign with Golden State Warriors

By

The drama of the two heavyweights of basketball planning to bolt the Golden State Warriors Team is false. In fact, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry are in for the long haul, so they say.

For Kevin Durant, he is liking what is happening to him during his stay with the Golden State Warriors. He seems to be enjoying everything that is going with his first-year stint with the team. It appears that Kevin Durant has no reason to abandon his new team, as reported by CBS Sports.

The Golden State Warriors management had been taking good care of their big fellas. It won't be long that the big haul, Kevin was talking about, will soon happen. His pay is ideal for 2016 - 2017 contract with GSW. His present salary is $26,540,100. The salary cap is the highest paid in GSW franchise history. It is a 20.79 percent increase from his previous yearly salary, talk about leaving GSW. Kevin is the second NBA best-paid player this year, and the highest paid NBA player of the GSW, as reported by Hoopshype in USA Today Sports.

Stephen Curry has an excellent deal with the GSW as well. His contract began last 2013 - 2014 with a $44 million salary cap. This year, Curry's salary is $12,112,359.00 as his contract ends this 2017. If he renews his contract with GSW, he will expect a 5-year contract value of $209 million. The outcome of salary capping is due to the categorization and salary cap rules that the CBA agreed upon. If he opts to leave GSW, the most he can get is a $132million cap that another team can offer, according to Yahoo Sports.

The salary caps applies to Kevin Durant too. He is expected to earn a whopping $36 million if he re-signs with GSW next season. Because of the new rules that the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement sat, it became an incentive to remain with their teams.

There would be no way that Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry leave GSW. As they both say, Other teams could pay, but the Golden State Warriors can pay.
