‘Girl Meets World’ season 3 stays on Disney Channel; Season 2 available on Netflix

Inspite viewers' petition that seeks to move 'Girl Meets World' season 3 to Freeform, it seems that the upcoming season will remain loyal to Disney Channel. Meanwhile, those who missed some episodes of season 2 or just want to watch all episodes again, season 2 is available for streaming on Netflix.

'Girl Meets World' season 3 storyline is expected to explore heavier issues as Riley, Maya and other students are entering to the world of high school. In a report by Enumerical News, the third season will continue to give viewers an honest look of what life is really like in high school.

The upcoming season will also feature the love triangle brewing between Riley, Maya and Lucas. After it will be given a resolution, more heavy and boundary-pushing episodes will be tacked. Thus, the expected 'GMW' season 3's shift in tone and content urges some fans to start a petition asking for the show to be moved to Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family).

According to the petition, the move is sufficient as the upcoming season will air heavier contents than before. Knowing the demographics of Disney Channel which starts at 6 years old, the show will face a lot of restrictions as compared to Freeform. The petition also claims to cancel 'Girl Meets World' season 3 if the storyline will no longer fit in with channel's young viewers.

As of today, the petition has almost reached its needed 5,000 supporters. It has already earned 4, 811 supporters and it only needs 189 votes to reach the quota.

While the petition is almost getting the full support its needed, neither Disney Channel nor Freeform has announced or hinted any approval or disapproval. This makes many viewers speculate that the upcoming season will remain loyal to its channel. If that is so, 'Girl Meets World' season 3 premiere date this spring will be very likely.
