Obama’s senior adviser Brian Deese to head the team for White House’s Supreme Court process

By

President Barack Obama has asked his senior adviser Brian Deese, which is an economic expert who led the administration's climate change efforts, to lead the White House's Supreme Court process. The White House also revealed that Deese will be tasked to head a team formed to choose a Supreme Court nominee and win confirmation.

According to Politico, with the Supreme Court nomination rumoured to be as early as this week, Obama tapped his senior adviser for help to pick out a nominee. But the White House still refused to settle on any schedule for the decision.

They even claimed that Deese's appointment is an early action. "Alongside Brian, Neil Eggleston, the president's counsel, is leading the legal efforts, including the search, review, research, and vetting of candidates. The group will report to chief of staff Denis McDonough, the president's senior advisors, and the president on a regular basis," a White House official admitted.

Reuters claimed that the Republicans have promised to refuse to choose from any of Obama's chosen nominee. This will allegedly challenge the White House to select a nominee that they believe could change the Republican minds and have the public take their side to support them.

The senior adviser is also trained to do the project for the White House. In fact, he has already made a mark as he took on projects important to the President within the White House. He was also involved in leading the administration's bailout of the U.S. auto industry, budget deals with the Congress, and the international climate change, which is the most recent project, which ended in a Paris deal to find solutions for global warming, as reported by Raw Story.

As early as this week, the President is on his early stages of choosing an appointee to replace conservative Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, after his death just two weeks ago. The method of choosing a candidate for the position would take at least a month. Deese's team was selected to function as a support system to the White House.

This will ensure the entire White House staffs were not bothered by the potentially legacy-defining project. The team will also be tasked to report regularly to chief-of-staff Denis McDonough, to the senior advisers, and of course, to the President.

Meanwhile, the White House is still listing down any potential candidates for the Supreme Court and the list is now being reviewed and is open to new candidates. The potential nominees will then be evaluated and interviewed before the President makes his final verdict.
