‘World War 3’ Updates: 'Spider-Man' trilogy's Sam Raimi tapped to helm film adaptation; China not the source of major war

George Friedman's "The Next 100 Years" is getting a film adaptation under the banner of Warner Bros. entitled "World War 3". To be helmed by "Spider-Man" trilogy's Sam Raimi, it will detail the non-fiction book written by Friedman, a strategist and geopolitical forecaster who tackles the future of the world.

There is no scarier thing than to experience another world war during today's time knowing it is far more advanced and potentially massive in casualty, but Warner Bros. decided to do it anyway. According to Flickering Myth, Bill Block Media and Warner Bros. Pictures has tapped Sam Raimi to direct the "World War 3" from George Friedman's "The Next 100 Years". This would be the director's latest signed film after agreeing to helm the remake of "A Prophet." Raimi's notable works include the 2013's "Oz the Great and Powerful" and the first trilogy of "Spider-Man."

Consequence of Sound  detailed the book as "A fascinating, eye-opening and often shocking look at what lies ahead for the U.S. and the world from one of our most incisive futurists."  Friedman focused on predicting the future in his book. Based from analysis and research, Friedman indicated that civilization is at the dawn of a new era and forecast the changes that the world will face during 21st century. Examples of these is the US-Jihadist war will be met with a new cold-war with Russia. Meanwhile, Mexico will become a significant force for its geopolitical nature.  Friedman's prediction also invovles the technologies and cultural trends that will change the way people live and handle wars. 

Meanwhile, The Bit Bag thinks that China may not be the major cause of the world's clash. The article says that predictions about China's role in the world power is diminishing as it was fragmented to multi-nation states. Furthermore, Poland may become the dominant political and military force in Europe. According to the site, World War 3 is referring to the three-year limited war predicted to occur in 2050 after a technological arms race between Turkey, United States and Japan.

Currently, World War 3 is still on its development stage. There is still no information on the release date of the film, but more details about the movie adaptation are expected to surface soon.
