‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Update: Stellan Skarsgard confirms Dr. Erik Selvig's absence and next appearance; Hulk’s possible role in the upcoming film

The final and third installment featuring the Asgardian universe, Thor: Ragnarok, is coming fast and it has been revealed that one human character will not be appearing this time. Meanwhile, Hulk's role in the upcoming film has been deduced in an article.

Apparently, Thor: Ragnarok won't feature as many earthlings as it used to feature before. Stellan Skarsgard has confirmed, himself, that his character won't appear in the upcoming film. According to Blastr, Thor: Ragnarok won't be seeing much action in Earth and would focus on the other Nine Realms in the Marvel Universe instead. This coincides with Stellan Skarsgard's interview wherein he revealed he won't reprise his role in the film but might be back for Avengers: Infinity War.

"I have a five-film deal with them, and they still have one option. Thor 3 is not on my slate, but maybe the next Avengers," the actor said, initializing that Dr. Erik Selvig's appearance won't be until the third Avengers film. The character was last seen in The Avengers: Age of Ultron helping Thor. Although Skarsgard won't be on the third installment, it has been promised that there's more humor in the upcoming sequel compared to its predecessors.

Meanwhile, Screen Crush noted that Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo were tapped to do the Infinity War films. The Russo brothers recently discussed that they will be including a bunch of faces in the big finale as they're trying atleast 67 characters. The two-part films should be enough to give each character enough time on the screen even though some are just minor to supporting ones like Skarsgard's Dr. Erik Selvig.

In related news, Movie Pilot speculated a theory on what would be the role of Hulk in the Thor: Ragnarok. Many were surprised that the film has suddenly added Bruce Banner into the scenario. While it's a mere precition, the site wrote Hulk would be under Loki's control once again. Loki is yet the only confirmed villain in the film and seeing that he's the King of Asgard, Loki might need a creature such as the Hulk to battle for his side. They added that Loki has seen the Hulk's true power in the 2012's Avengers, utilizing this into his own benefit.

Thor: Ragnarok is the third and final installment to the Thor franchise starring Chris Hemsworth as the titular superhero. The film which is directed by Taika Waititi  will focus on the other Nine Realms of Marvel Universe. Thor: Ragnarok is slated to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
