While DICE is still mum on the release date of Battlefield 5, there are rumors that the first person shooter video game will receive one more DLC for Battlefield: Hardline next month. DICE also announced a new game, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, making series' fans disappointed as they expected the announcement will be about the release date of the upcoming Batttlefield 5.

In a report by Yibada, while fans of Battlefield are excited when DICE recently said that a big announcement will be revealed this week, it turns out that the announcement is not about Battlefield but it is about a new game instead, an action-adventure platform video game titled Mirror's Edge Catalyst or MEC.

MEC is a fantastic game originally released in 2008 and reported to be worthy of the hype given it, however, most of many of fans thought that EA's announcement will be the revelation of the release date of Battlefield 5. In addition, many disillusioned fans expressed their disappointment via the social media where some of them said that what they were expecting is a sneak peak for the upcoming Battlefield 5.

Despite fans' disappointment, with the release of Battlefield: Hardline add-on next month,  many believe that Battlefield 5 will be coming out very soon.

In July last year, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen announced that Battlefield 5 will be released in 2016, which, later confirmed after DICE director Dan Vaderlind said that he will be advancing to the next Battlefield installment after the release of Star Wars: Battlefront.

According to The Bitbag, Battlefield 5 is promised to return to its original military theme setting, compared to Battlefield: Hardline, is a cops versus robbers theme. It also said that the expected release date for Battlefield 5 in Holiday 2016.
