'Doctor Strange' Update: Sorcerer Supreme keeps one of the undiscovered Infinity Stones? Marvel President reveals how the superhero can 'screw around with time'

By

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has successfully managed to bank on visual aesthetics to wow viewers. When it comes to the theatrics, Marvel movies do not disappoint. But loyalists and probably anyone who's been paying attention to the actual storylines will find it easy to agree that a common denominator in all Marvel movies is the existence of the Infinity Stones. Recent "Doctor Strange" updates suggest that the Infinity Stones are a pivotal element in the movie.

There are a total of six powerful Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We've been introduced to four of them so far. The Power Stone was inside the Orb first seen in "Guardians of the Galaxy." The Space Stone powers the Tesseract in "Captain America: The First Avenger." Loki's scepter holds the Mind Stone. The Reality Stone was contained in the Aether in "Thor: The Dark World."

That leaves fans with two more stones yet to be unveiled.

With the MCU entering its third phase, viewers will get to learn more about the Infinity Stones and how they piece everything together. According to Movie News Guide, one of the Infinity Stones will probably take form in Doctor Strange's "Eye of Agamotto" medallion. It's plausible that the green stone may be the Time Stone, which gives Doctor Strange the power to manipulate time.

"In this film, the Eye is a very important relic that can be quite dangerous if used in the wrong hands, because it has the ability to do any number of things," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed. Since the "Eye of Agamotto" can manipulate probabilities, it gives Doctor Strange the ability to "screw around with time."

But before "Doctor Strange" unleashes his powers of sorcery in theatres, major plot hints will be dropped in ABC's "Agent Carter" Season 2.  The series will explore a substance called "Darkforce," which was revealed as one of the central concepts in the "Doctor Strange" movie.

"Darkforce" is described as a negative energy that is easy to learn but difficult to control, the Inquisitr noted. The incorporation of "Darkforce" fits right into the preliminary synopsis for the "Doctor Strange" movie, which is an origin story for Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange.

In the movie, Doctor Strange damages his hand in an accident which leaves him incapacitated to proceed with his work. In desperation, he turns to magic or formally called the "Darkforce."

If Doctor Strange does indeed have in his possession the Time Stone and has mastered the "Darkforce," imagine the colossal amount of power he can wield!

Benedict Cumberbatch will suit up as "Doctor Strange" as the movie hits theatres on Nov. 4.
