The Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island had just thrown out the case regarding a lawsuit that centers between the province and a U.S.-based technology company which amounts to $25 million. A judge dismissed the motion after seeing that there are lots of legal problems with their claims and documents.

PEI Supreme Court Justice Gordon Campbell tossed the case filed by Capital Market Technologies due to numerous legal problems on their claims according to The Guardian. The judge also ordered plaintiffs CMT and 7645686 to pay an amount of $1 million if they wish to continue in pursuing the claim. Campbell wrote in his 36-page decision that a lot of paragraphs were scrapped, 116 out of 283, and due to their nature of being irrelevant as opinions. The $1 million security is to be made before filing a new lawsuit since the judge knows that defendants should be able to recover some costs if they win the motion.

The lawsuit was filed by CMT since April 2015 as detailed by CBC News. They've allegedly claimed that PEI government have failed to respect and honor the dealings they've made with the technology company. CMT have named numerous authorities that they suspected to have joined in the conspiracy citing former Finance Minister Wes Sheridan, Innovation Minister Allan Campbell and chief of staff Chris LeClair. The $25 million lawsuit was filed after the said individuals failed to transform the island into an international online-gambling hub.

Further to this, The Globe and Mail had the chance to speak up with the lawyer of the provice handling the case and they've wrote it in their article. Jonathan Coady, PEI's lawyer, said that "the judge really speaks for itself." They've applauded the ruling and said that the lawsuit is just a basic and serious issue being addressed to their government but had no legal merit to it.
