'Pacific Rim 2' Updates: Film will happen says Guillermo del Toro; Charlie Hunnam to reprise Raleigh Becket role

By

There have been rumors these past few weeks that Pacific Rim 2 will not happen, but director Guillermo del Toro says that it's definitely a go and that he is attached to direct the sequel. While Pacific Rim 2 is already a green light, latest news says that Charlie Hunnam is prepared to reprise his role as Raleigh Becket.

Guillermo de Toro was quite worried about the fans of Pacific Rim who thought that the film is not happening. Hollywood Reporter said that the director guaranteed everyone who is eager to watch Pacific Rim 2 that the film will hit the big screen soon and he will be helming it one way or another. Guillermo del Toro also said that he wanted the cast to remain intact and he doesn't want any characters to be replaced.

Charlie Hunnam, the lead actor of Pacific Rim said that there were indeed issues involved in making the film, but he loves the film and would like to do it.  ''I think world creation and monster creation and all of that stuff are exciting as a secondary element of storytelling," Hunnam said. According to Youth Health Magazine, Hunnam stated that everyone is trying very hard to give the fans a better story.

It was reported in 2014, that the schedule for the release date of Pacific Rim 2 was supposed to be on April 2017. However, Universal Studios hit a snag and encountered some financial problems and placed it on hold. The reports spread on the internet like wildfire and so Del Toro posted on a social media that fans should not believe everything they have read on the internet, as reported by Slash Film.

Although Pacific Rim 2 hit a bum note in the production phase, fans can now rejoice with the fact that it's indeed happening. And to all the fans of Charlie Hunnam, this news is meant to be shared with others.
