'Han Solo Movie' Updates: Disney casts ‘The Age of Adaline’ actor Anthony Ingruber as young Harrison Ford

Fans of Star Wars can now expect a standalone Han Solo movie from Disney. Rumors said that Disney already found an actor who will play as the young smuggler. Names like Miles Teller and Dave Franco were included in a shortlist of talent who auditioned for the role, but there's one new name that might be the best choice among them, Anthony Ingruber.

In 2010, Anthony Ingruber made his film debut in Disney's TV film Avalon High. And in 2015, the 25-year-old actor was known for his portrayal of the film Age of Adaline as the young Harrison Ford.

Anthony Ingruber posted a video on Youtube portraying himself as Han Solo. Most of the fans who have seen the video agreed that Ingruber nailed the impersonation. The video was viewed more than million since it was posted back in 2008. The video drew the attention of director Lee Toland Krieger, which led the director to include Ingruber in the film Age of Adaline.

Ingruber told the Business Insider that it is important for him to find a balance between delivering the character as an original piece while still employing some of the mannerisms that Ford is famous for. "So it was not simply a matter of impersonating him, but rather taking those elements to build a new, although still recognizable, character," the young actor said. 

The actor got to meet Harrison Ford, which he admitted as his idol, while working on the set of Age of Adaline. Inverse reported that if Anthony Ingruber stands a chance of landing the iconic role, he can't just duplicate Ford. While it is true that he certainly looks and sounds enough like him, he needs to embody the character of Han Solo first.

Anthony Ingruber also said that since he was 14, people are already pointing out the resemblance between him and Harrison Ford. He said he's amazed by the support he's received from the fans and is hopeful that Disney will pick him as the next Han Solo.
