Sex-Offender Accused of Trying to Abduct Girl at Miami Airport

By

A sex-offender has been accused of attempting to kidnap a 3-year-old girl in Miami International Airport. The kid and her family was reportedly on the said airport renting a car when the incident took place.

The family and the victim, whose names were undisclosed, just landed in Miami International Airport from Argentina when the attempted kidnapping happened. The girl was reportedly walking to a water fountain in the airport along with her older siblings when the 42-year old sex-offender, identified as Cuong Nguyen, grabbed the girl's wrist. However, she was able to run-off towards her mother and reported about the man who grabbed her. According to ABC News, Cuong Nguyen, admitted that he did take the initiative to grab the girl because he thought she was cute.

Cuong Nguyen was arrested right after, and he did confess about the attempt. He also told the police authorities that he even wanted to kiss the girl, Daily Mail UK shared. In accordance with the said arrest, the Miami-Dade County clerk of courts charged Cuong Nguyen of two felony cases for attempted rape and false imprisonment of a child under the age of 13.

This is not the first time Cuong Nguyen has been charged. Infact, he was already  convicted in 1996 due to lewd and lascivious behavior towards a child under the age of 16 as per the Florida sex-offender registry. Malta Independent cited that the sex-offender is already being held in jail. The records, however, do not indicate if he has an attorney for the case trial he is about to face.

Cuong Nguyen is said to be already in jail and awaiting trial for the two (2) felony cases he is facing. Authorities are still investigating on the issue and whether he has a present lawyer to defend the charges against him as he also claimed that he is currently homeless.
