‘John Wick 2’ coming this 2016; Keanu Reeves drops sequel’s plot, teases a 'really good premise'

'John Wick 2' leading man Keanu Reeves admitted that he leaves stunt work to the professionals. Although he does action scenes, he revealed that they are not "stunts". He also dropped a few plot hints for the upcoming sequel.

According to The Playlist, Reeves is set to return in Chad Stahelski's upcoming sequel as the titular ex-assassin pulled out of retirement to seek revenge. The Canadian actor revealed that when he received the script for the first film, he was immediately drawn to it despite it being made originally for an older character.

He said, "I met with Derek [Kolstad] and spoke with Basil [Iwanyk] and talked to them about, if I wanted the role what we would have to do. And then I thought we got it to a good place and went out to Chad and Dave to direct it."

Reeves also revealed that he doesn't do stunts and leave them to professionals. However, he admitted to getting involved in some action saying, "I flip over guys, I get flipped, I run, I jump, I play." The 51-year old gained fame for his performances on numerous action films including his iconic role as Neo in 'The Matrix' trilogy of films. He also starred in 'Point Break', 'Constantine' and '47 Ronin'.

His versatility as an on-screen actor also led to several other feature films in other genres. According to an article on Decider, Reeves' storied career includes a wealth of drama, romance and comedy films. He appeared on 'Dangerous Liaisons', 'Bill and Ted', 'Bram Stoker's Dracula', 'Much Ado About Nothing' and 'Sweet November'.

The original 'John Wick' film followed Reeves as a retired hitman who sought revenge for the brutal murder of his beloved pet dog and the theft of his vintage car. No plot details have been made available for the sequel as of the present.

According to another article by the Independent, Reeves continued to keep the new storyline secret but admitted that it has a "really good premise". He said, "...It's an organic premise. It's basically - to me there's John Wick and then there's John. You know, John is the married guy whose wife just died, and that five years of his life. Then there's John Wick, who's the mythical assassin. In this, John Wick's past comes and infiltrates John's life and John Wick, in a way, has to fight for John."

'John Wick 2' is an upcoming action-thriller film starring Keanu Reeves as the titular assassin. It is directed by Chad Stahelski based on a screenplay by Derek Kolstad. It is scheduled to be released sometime in 2016.
