Cameron Stern on Taking Down 'Spurious' Military Legal Claims

By

British Prime Minister, David Cameron, ordered a clampdown against legal cases intended for Bristish soldiers who risked their lives in Iraq.

David Cameron is all about fighting for British war veterans who are facing legal charges. The Prime Minister has sent an order to change legal aid and no-fee agreements. Cameron has also called to stop any legal actions against British soldiers.

According to the Prime Minister, more than 1,500 compensation claims have been filed, and taxpayers' money has been used to launch these claims on behalf of victims that claim they have ben mistreated.

Cameron also wants to impose a time limit for submitting claims against soldiers. This would ban foreigners who are not UK residents to claim any legal aid and to abolish no-win no fee deals suggested by lawyers.

"It's clear that there is now an industry trying to profit from spurious claims lodged against our brave servicemen and women. It's unacceptable and no way to treat the people who risk their lives to keep our country safe. It has got to end," stated the Prime Minister, in a report by The Sun.

Cameron continued by saying that he has tasked the National Security Council to let him create a comprehensive plan to prevent further claims from happening.

According to The Daily Mail, Whitehall officials were warned that lifting the probe before its actual completion would result to legal shambles, and could even drag UK into the International Criminal Court.

"The Prime Minister is deeply concerned at the large number of spurious claims being made against members of our Armed Forces. He is absolutely clear that action needs to be taken and has asked the National Security Council to produce a clear, detailed plan on how we stop former troops facing this torment," said a source to The Daily Mail.
